The City of Tavares is proud to announce we received a $26,000 grant from the Florida Forest Service to participate in a program to reduce fuel loads in areas adjacent to communities. This mitigation activity within the Tavares Nature Park located at 1551 Milwaukee Ave, Tavares, FL 32778, will include mowing and mulching vegetation and trees with up to a 4” caliper (no prescription burn scheduled at this time). A border will still be in place to deter vehicles from entering the park. Tavares Nature Park will be closed from 4/11/2024 through 4/21/2024 while this work is performed.
